Responsibilities

As a Quality Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

Product and Process Inspections

  • Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Perform visual inspections to identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from standards.

Quality Control Testing

  • Execute standardized quality tests (e.g., tensile strength, hardness, dimensional checks) to validate product integrity.
  • Operate testing equipment and document results accurately.
  • Identify trends in test data and report potential quality concerns.

Compliance with Standards

  • Ensure all processes and products comply with ISO 9001, cGMP, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and corrective action support.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to maintain compliance.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
  • Generate quality reports for management review and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and revision of quality control procedures.

Non-Conformance Investigations

  • Investigate root causes of quality deviations and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Support the resolution of customer complaints related to product quality.
  • Track and analyze defect trends to prevent recurrence.

Education

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent

Work Experience

  • 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience required

Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to enhance quality processes.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and increase product reliability.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality control methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and quality management software.

Work Schedule & Location

  • Location: Walker, Michigan (on-site position)
  • Shift: Night shift with occasional overtime as needed.
  • Alternative shifts (2nd or 3rd) may be available for the right candidate.
