Job Description

As an assistance Worker, you will give critical care and assistance to people in need, assisting them with everyday activities such as personal care, housework, community access, and emotional support. You will collaborate closely with other healthcare experts to provide a person-centered care plan that is tailored to each individual’s requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, and toileting).
  • Assist with domestic activities (cooking, cleaning, and shopping).
  • Assist persons in connecting with the community and getting assistance.
  • Administer medication as needed and offer emotional support and company.
  • Always ensure individuals’ safety and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, and report any changes in health status to supervisors.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in care or support work is desirable but not required (complete training will be provided).
  • A sympathetic and patient attitude
  • Strong communication abilities and the ability to operate within a team
  • Flexible working hours, including weekends and nights.
  • Willingness to have an enhanced DBS check
  • A valid UK driver’s license is desired, but not required.

Desirable skills

Requirements for this position include experience dealing with adults with learning impairments, mental health issues, or the elderly, an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, and First Aid, Moving and Handling, or Safeguarding training (if required).
